Quentin Tarrantino brought 'pulp fiction' back into
American consciousness with his critically acclaimed
film, "Pulp Fiction."
Pulp fiction, described as a type of novel printed
on
cheaper grade paper known as "pulp," contained
subject
matter that tended to be lurid and of a sordid nature.
In 2003, the Smithsonian published an article that
focused on the appeal of pulp cover art, which tends
to be stylized, campy, shocking and hysterically funny
in many cases. This catalog features classic pulp cover art, images
of the macabre and stunning late 19th Century Magician
posters.
